Game/Set/Match Tennis Scoring Get 2 serves per point. If first serve doesn't land in the box, it's a FAULT. Serve again. Serves that hit the net are called LETS. If a LET lands in, it's just a do-over. If it lands out, it's a FAULT. 2 FAULTS is a DOUBLE FAULT and the server loses the point. Serve first to left (deuce) side. Serve next point to right (ad) side. Continue alternating. Points: Instead of 1-2-3-4, points are called 15-30-40-Game. Must have a 2-point advantage to win a game. Game score of 40-all is called DEUCE. Whoever wins the next point has the AD. If the person with AD wins the next point, they win the game. If not, its DEUCE again and you continue. 6 games wins a SET. Need a 2-game advantage. At 6 games all you play a tie-breaker (see below). Play best 2-out-of-3 sets. Change sides every ODD-numbered game. Adjust the score card for your team each change. Server calls the set score before every game. Server calls the game score before every point. AUDIBLY call the SERVER'S games/points FIRST. Receiver MUST play at the server's reasonable pace. In doubles, teammates alternate serving games each SET. ALWAYS TALK WITH YOUR COACHES after 3rd, 5th, 7th etc. games in each set and between sets. Tie-breaker scoring Team A gets to serve ONE POINT. Then Team B serves TWO POINTS. Teams continue alternating serve every 2 points. All even points from DEUCE side. All odd points from AD side. In doubles, one player serves 2 points. Next time it's that team's serve, the other player serves 2 points. Change sides every 6 points. First to 7 points with a 2-point advantage wins the tie-breaker and the set.
