Help For First-Year Students

I have been a mentor for many years for the Center for Student Progress.
In fact, I was YSU's Mentor Of The Year in 1996!

If you are a first-year student in need of ANY type of help,
I encourage you to read the following excerpt from the YSU
Undergraduate Bulletin:

"The Center for Student Progress, located below the Youngstown State Univeristy Bookstore, is available to assist students in completing their University experience. The Center is designed to intervene actively in the lives of students to help them academic and social success in college. In an effort to cultivate the skills of new students, expand the skills of developing students, and enhance the skills of exceptional students, the CSP (which can be found on the Web at www.cc.ysu.edu/csp) offers the following services and programs:

First-Year Student Services
Student Tutorial Services
Orientation Services
Adult Learner Services
Disability Services
Individual Intervention Services and GOAL Program
Multicultural Student Services
Supplemental Instruction Services."

Mentoring service is available to any first-year student who wants
support from a volunteer faculty or staff member. The relationship
focuses on career issues, educational success, as well as advice on
requirements and procedures.

Department of Computer Science and Information Systems in particular,
